Friday I spent the day with Joe and Kelly as they became Mr. and Mrs. Piccari at the Bradford Estate in Hainesport! These two planned the most sentimental wedding day I have seen on a large scale. There was not one detail left out! I got choked up multiple times in between running around to capture all the amazing details so I didn't miss anything.
When I first talked to these two I could tell they had a plan. They knew exactly what they wanted and they wanted it all. I was excited to work with them and see how their plans were executed. Their planning consult came and let me tell you I had almost 3 pages of notes for their shot list and schedule. We were READY! Can I tell you that there was even more significant events that took place to document that I didn't even have written down? This wedding was beyond the scope of Pinterest ideas!
Kelly and Joe exchanges the most heart warming cards and gifts! (first time I got emotional), Then Kelly's late grandmother had hand sewn a bonnet for her when she was a baby that had a letter included to have her take with her on her wedding day as her "something old" (second time I got emotional, but like really emotional!)
Kelly and her momma are quite the crafty pair as well. Turning her grandmother's dress into Kelly's getting ready robe. Which I would have never been able to tell because it looked absolutely perfect! They also included one of the button's of Grandma's dress to Kelly's Also, they hand made the Groom's tie and vest. How cool?! I was so unbelievably impressed!
There is so many more things to say about her sentimental additions, but It would take over the entire blog! So, moving on!
Typically churches are a challenge for lighting and if you didn't know there are SO many churches! So it is not common to get to one particular church multiple times. So when I received an email with the list of rules from the couple's church that included staying in the back of the church under the balcony and not being able to use flash... I was sweating! However, once I arrived I was floored at the beautiful lighting and aesthetic of this church! It photographed beautifully with 0 issues! In fact the best ceremony lighting I may have ever had!
Kelly and Joe had a BIG shot list and I was determined to get them everything they requested. I could tell the couple was getting a little restless of the portraits, but they were troopers and we all powered through that list fast so they could go relax and enjoy the day. It was definitely a win-win and I am so proud of them for hanging in there to get the photos they wanted.
I have to admit it has always been my belief that sometimes plans to this extent can result in a loss of meaning of the wedding day. These two however never lost sight of that. The passion and love they had for one another could be felt by everyone in the room, even me who was essentially a stranger to them. It was so heart warming and beautiful to watch how happy and in love these two were the entire day.
Joe and Kelly, Your day was gorgeous, you and your guests were wonderful and the details were out of this world! I was so happy to capture this day for you and honored you trusted me to do so. I hope you treasure your photos for the rest of your lives!
